Tactical Control and Defense provides a variety of Law Enforcement courses to suit the needs of the Armed and Un-Armed Officer.

  • Resistance Control and Management I (RCM-1)

This course is designed for Police Officers. During RCM-1 the student will be acquainted with potential threats they may encounter in an unarmed assault. We will cover the modern theory of fighting, basic techniques of movement, and the blocking/avoidance of assaults. Basic ground fighting techniques, including ground survival and escape will be covered. The course also covers defenses to common chokes and holds.

  • Resistance Control and Management II (RCM-2)

RCM-2 expands on the basic techniques covered in RCM-1 in a fast paced and dynamic setting. While RCM-1 is designed to make the student proficient in a defensive posture, RCM-2 focuses on taking a resistive or combative person into control though the use of highly effective takedowns and control techniques. Prerequisite is RCM-1, and is limited to Law Enforcement only.

  • Resistance Control and Management III (RCM-3)

RCM-3 refreshes the tactics taught in RCM-1 and RCM-2. We will go more in depth on ground fighting techniques, and incorporate additional tactics to counter someone who is actively aggressive. Additionally, techniques of weapon retention and gun/knife defense will be taught.  Prerequisite is RCM-2, and is limited to Law Enforcement only.


  • Women’s Resistance Control and Management I (WRCM-1)
  • Women’s Resistance Control and Management II (WRCM-2)

  • Secure and Control I (SFO-SC-1)

This course is designed specifically for S.W.A.T. Officers. During SC-1 the student will be acquainted with potential threats they may encounter in an armed/unarmed assault. We will cover the modern theory of fighting, techniques of movement, and the blocking/avoidance of assaults. Ground fighting techniques, including ground survival and escape will be covered. The course also covers defenses to common chokes and holds. In SC-1 techniques are designed to accommodate S.W.A.T. Officers specific situations.

  • Secure and Control II (SFO-SC-2)

SC-2 refreshes important tactics taught in SC-1 in a fast paced and dynamic setting created for S.W.A.T. Officers. We will go more in depth on control and arrest tactics from the ground and standing, advanced ground techniques including choke defenses and incorporate additional tactics to counter someone who is actively aggressive. Additionally, techniques of weapon retention and gun/knife defense will be taught. Prerequisite is SC-1, and is limited to S.W.A.T. officers only.


  • Resistance Control and Management I (UO-RCM-1)

This course is designed for Un-Armed Officers. During RCM-1 the student will be acquainted with potential threats they may encounter in an unarmed assault. We will cover the modern theory of fighting, basic techniques of movement, and the blocking/avoidance of assaults. Basic ground fighting techniques, including ground survival and escape will be covered. The course also covers defenses to common chokes and holds. Techniques in RCM-1 are tailored to deal with situations encountered by Un-Armed Officers.

  • Resistance Control and Management II (UO-RCM-2)

RCM-2 expands on the basic techniques covered in Un-Armed Officer RCM-1, in a fast paced and dynamic setting.  RCM-2 covers control and arrest techniques from the ground and standing. In addition we will be covering more advanced choke defenses. Prerequisite is RCM-1, and is limited to Un-Armed Officers only.

  • Resistance Control and Management III (UO-RCM-3)

RCM-3 refreshes the tactics taught in RCM-1 and RCM-2. We will go more in depth on ground fighting techniques, and incorporate additional tactics to counter someone who is actively aggressive when unarmed. Additionally, techniques of gun and knife defense will be taught.  Prerequisite is RCM-2, and is limited to Un-Armed Officers only.

Tactical Control and Defense “Undercover Officer” courses require right of entry process developed for their safety. After signing up, all paperwork must be complete and then we will ensure your authorization with clearance from your department. Once approved, you will receive the date and location with confidentiality to protect your identity. NO Cameras, NO Unregistered Officers, and NO Public Citizens will be allowed to be present during courses for Undercover Officers.

  • Tactical Combatives I (UO-TC-1)

NO baton, NO EID, and probably NO radio….now what??? This course is specially designed for the Plainclothes or Undercover Officer who suddenly finds themselves in a violent confrontation. Tactical Control and Defense will provide all essential techniques used to ensure the officer understands how to deal with the worst case scenario.  TC-1 is limited to all registered Undercover/Plainclothes Officers only.


  • Tactical Weapons Defense Course I (TWDC-1)

This course is designed for all Law Enforcement. During TWDC-1 the student will be acquainted with potential threats they may encounter in an armed assault including knife, bat, blunt objects, concealed items and basic firearm. We will cover the modern theory of fighting, techniques of movement, blocking/avoidance and recovery of armed assaults. Ground fighting techniques, including ground survival and escape to disarm assailant will be covered. TWDC-1 also provides the knowledge and defense to common chokes and holds used in armed assaults. Techniques in TWDC-1 are tailored to deal with situations encountered by an armed assailant for all Law Enforcement.

  • Tactical Weapons Defense Course II (TWDC-2)

TWDC-2 touches on important tactics taught in TWDC-1. We will go more in depth on serious threats that may be encountered in an armed assault. TWDC-2 focuses on advanced disarming techniques for commonly used firearms and life threatening weapons.  TWDC-2 will emphasize on advanced ground fighting techniques, psychology of the situation and will incorporate additional tactics to counter someone who is actively aggressive when armed.  Prerequisite is TWDC-1, and is limited to Law Enforcement only.
